Music Festivals not only imbibe performances from chart toppers but they also showcase fresh talents. For all the like- minded music lovers, these music festivals are a one of a kind celebration. It’s the start of the music festival season and that’s why we bring to you the world’s top 5 music festivals.

1. Coachella (California)
The Coachella Music Festival started in 1999 and it takes place in the month of April in the desert of California. This festival has been totally sold out since past 3 years even though it takes place in 110 degree Fahrenheit temperature. It features musicians of variety of genres like Pop, Hip- Hop, Electronic and Indie. The 2012 line- up included popular artists like Swedish House Mafia, The Black Keys, Radio head and Florence + the Machine. This year’s line- up includes Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Vampire Weekend and Paul Oakenfold.


2. Glastonbury (UK)
Glastonbury is considered the ultimate music festival by music lovers. It has set its standard since 1970 and the very next day Jimi Hendrix Died. This festival is reputed as the dirtiest festival as it often takes place in heavy downpours and mud underneath your feet. The last festival saw a crowd of approximately 175,000 in the three day event. You will find popular music artists in this festival like Jay-Z, Beyonce, Coldplay, U2 and the like.


3. Lollapalooza (USA)
One of the best ROCK festivals in the USA, the Lollapalooza was initiated by Jane’s Addiction front man Perry Farrell. Between 1991 10 1997, this was an on the road music festival all over North America. After its downtrend, it revived back in 2005 and found its haven in Grant Park, Chicago, Illinois. 4. Burning Man Festival (Nevada)
The Burning Man Festival is unique and fascinating. It is held in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada in late August or early September. The striking feature of the festival is that the attendees form Black Rock City and during the festival period, it becomes the most populated town. The attendees are asked to contribute in ways of food, art and anything creative. This festival is also famous for its rules like “cash not allowed”. This is definitely an epic musical extravaganza.


5. Ultra Music Festival (Florida)
Ultra Music Festival is the most popular and by far the largest EDM music festivals in America. EDM is nothing but Electronic Dance Music. It is held in Miami, Florida in March. The 2012 line- up of the festival included Tiesto, Aviici, David Guetta, Armin Van Buuren, and Skrillex. The 2013 line- up has big names like David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Swedish House Mafia, Afrojack and Deadmau5.
